Simek's and Feed My Starving Children

This Valentine's day Simek's employees got the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) and helped pack meals that would feed starving children in Haiti. We started out the day by listening to an informational video that was incredibly impactful and put the word "hungry" into perspective for everyone. Did you know that over 18,000 people die every day simpy because they do not have enough food? FMSC is an organization that packs nutrional and hearty meals to fill the stomachs of those who are desperately in need and then ships the food to countries all over the world. After we washed our hands and got into our stylish hair nets, we moved to the packing tables where we all had a specific job. First someone would put the chicken flavoring, veggies, soy and rice into the bags, next the bags would get measured to make sure there was enough food before they were sealed and put into boxes where they will be shipped to Haiti to feed children at schools and orphanages. Often that will be their only meal per day.

We also want to give a big thanks to our Facebook fans who contributed to these donations by "liking" Simek's Facebook Page. Because of you we were able to pack the 2,000 meals we promised as well as donate enough money to FMSC to provide a total of $3,100 meals! In our session, all the volunteers packed over 13,000 meals that will help feed 36 children for an entire year. Thank you so much for your support!
