German Style Meatballs

This family favorite is perfect comfort food during the cold Wisconsin winter months. The roots of this flavorful German style sauce date back to recipes from my Great Grandmother. It's easy, economical, and can be made with ingredients found in most any pantry.

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2-3 Hours
  • Serving Size: 8 meatballs and sauce with 1 cup cooked egg noodles
  • Total Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Original Style Meatballs
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • ¾ cups beef broth
  • 1 – 10.75 oz. can condensed tomato soup
  • 3 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs cider vinegar
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Hot cooked egg noodles

Directions

  1. Place meatballs and onions in 5qt. slow cooker.
  2. Whisk together remaining ingredients in medium mixing bowl.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours.
  4. Serve over hot cooked egg noodles.
